Lewis Gilford White, Jr., passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017. He was born August 31, 1942 in Pekin, Illinois to Lewis G. White, Sr. and Elva (Wys) White. Lewis was the only boy and had four sisters, Cornelia (Bunny) Cash, Carole White Estep, Lila White Rhoden Baucom, and Julia White Beavers; he also had nine nieces and nephews.
Lewis married Margaret Sullivan on May 5, 1962. They had two children, Lewis Gilford White III and Lorri Gayle White Tedder; along with two granddaughters, Ashley Tedder Myers and Courtney Tedder Vaughn; and six great grandchildren, Alexis Myers, Gavin Vaughn, Gage Vaughn, Jack Keeling, Gabriel Myers and Harper Keeling.
Lewis was a member of Tulsa's Cement Mason's Local when he lived in Tulsa, OK and continued as a member after moving to Porter, OK. He also did some contracting in the Tulsa and Muskogee area. In 1983, he and his wife Margaret, established White Dairy Farm and it was in production until 2007. He will be remembered by many friends in the Cement Mason's Local, fellow dairy farmers and neighbors.
A family conducted memorial service for Lewis will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Fort Gibson First Baptist Church.
