Kenneth  Henson


Kenneth Joe Henson, 86 years old Checotah resident, passed away on August 30, 2019 in Muskogee, OK. He was born on November 17, 1932 to Joseph Frankie and Sarah Irene (Williams) Henson in Texanna, Oklahoma. He grew up in Texanna and graduated from Eufaula High School in 1950. Kenneth became a United States Marine in 1953 serving until 1961. He served in the Korea war. He met and married Raydene Elaine Leason in 1961 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kenneth was a computer programmer working in the early days of computers when one computer filled a room. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, and the DAV. He volunteered for the Developmentally Disabled or Physically Handicapped in Checotah. He loved hunting for arrowheads. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Kathleen Massa. Kenneth is survived by his wife Raydene of the home, one son, Michael Joe Henson and his wife Christine of Orlando, Florida, and one granddaughter, Megan Henson of Dallas, Texas.
Services celebrating the life of Kenneth were held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, OK under the personal direction of John Garrett.
