Juanima Elsie Cummings, 72, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She was born March 6, 1945 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Floyd and Juanita Scoggins. She attended public school and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1963. Juanima furthered her education at Lamar University in Texas where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2000. Most of her professional career was spent as a drug and alcohol counselor in Texas and as a social worker for Oklahoma DHS. She worked at Walgreens at the time of her death.
Juanima married Iris Kay Morgan on September 30, 2017 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She loved to fish and listen to gospel music.
Juanima was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Cummings; grandparents, Jim and Beulah Ledbetter; parents, Floyd Scoggins and Juanita Catron; stepfather, Paul Catron; brother, James Scoggins; and uncle, Gerald Hulsey.
She is survived by her spouse, Iris Morgan-Cummings; sons, Chris Cummings and wife Angie of Muskogee, Michael Cummings of Tahlequah; sister, Shirley Kish and husband Rich; aunt, Erma Dean Bannon, all of Pocola; nieces, Keri Rathbun and husband Mike of Greenwood, AR, Traci Holland and husband Adam of Cave Springs, AR; nephews, James Scoggins and wife Melanie of Frisco, TX, Paul Scoggins and wife Sumer of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Christopher Cummings and wife Andrea of Tulsa, OK, Aaron Cummings of Rogers, AR, Michael, Kira, and Daniel Cummings of Tulsa, OK; along with other family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Juanima's life will be 10AM, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Chris Cummings officiating.
