Joseph Lindsey Wolfe, 90, of Muskogee, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 27, 2018. He was born July 13, 1927 to Ira Clay and Bertha (Crause) Wolfe in Muskogee. He grew up and attended Muskogee Public Schools and graduated from Central High School in Muskogee with the Class of 1945.
Shortly after graduation, Joe enlisted with the United States Navy. He served his country faithfully and received an Honorable Discharge in August of 1946 after World War II.
He furthered his education and attended college at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah and then onto Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford, receiving an Associate Degree in Pharmacy.
On February 22, 1972, Joe marred the love of his life, Corina Reese, at the Justice of the Peace in Durant, Oklahoma. Together they have shared 46 years of marriage together.
Joe's hobbies included playing cards, bridge and penny poker being among his favorite card games, and golfing. His family remembers that he very much enjoyed his time on the golf course. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Bertha Wolfe; and his brother, David C. Wolfe of Texas.
Joe is survived by his wife, Corina of the home; his son, Shawn Blair and his wife Carah of Muskogee; grandchildren, Cody Blair, Matt Blair and Madison Blair all of Muskogee; great granddaughter, Ava Blair; two nephews, Ken Wolfe and Stanley Wolfe both of Texas; other family members and friends.
A celebration of Joe's life will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Committal Shelter of Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Chaplain Forrest Kirk officiating. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory; 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, OK.
