Johnny Kenneth Walker


Johnny Kenneth Walker, 78, of Oktaha passed peacefully from this life on Friday April 12, 2019 with the love of his life, Carolyn by his side. They were married for almost 57 years. Johnny was born August 18, 1941 in Oktaha, Oklahoma to John and Ethel Walker. Johnny married Carolyn Purdom on April 23, 1962 in Wagoner, OK. Their loving union produced five children; Kenneth, Beth, Michael, Dennis and Ronnie.

Johnny graduated from Oktaha High School in 1961. He worked for the Muskogee Farmers Association for 42 years. He enjoyed cattle, farming, hunting, fishing, gardening and watching his grandchildren's sporting events. He was always willing to help someone in need in his younger years.

Johnny was preceded in death by his infant children Kenneth and Beth, his son Michael in 2010, parents John and Ethel Walker, brothers Bill and Gordon Walker. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn of the home; his children Dennis and Sally Walker of Oktaha, Ronnie and Robin Walker of Summit and daughter in law Ruth Walker of Checotah. Special fishing and hunting buddy and brother Jack Walker and his wife Joan of Oktaha; sister Wilma Allen and husband Norman of Oktaha; grandchildren, Jon (Jessica) Walker, Leland (Chelsea) Walker, Caden Walker, Kyle Walker, Kendra (Tyler) Cartwright, Korey Walker, Dustin and Taylor Chalk; seven great grandchildren and many wonderful family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday April 15, 2019 at First Community Church in Oktaha with Pastor Ron Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Middleton Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee. Viewing will be on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Walker, Leland Walker, Dustin Chalk, Mark Ellison, Greg Blankenship and Ronnie Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Early and Jerry Walker.
