Joan's Story

Text size

Our beautiful Joan Crane Beasley left this earth to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
She was born on February 8, 1926, in Heckmondwike, Yorkshire, England, the eldest daughter of Reginald and Dorothy Crane.
Joan was educated at Church of England Schools in West Yorkshire. In her later teen years she trained at the Royal Halifax Infirmary where she became a midwife, something she enjoyed throughout her working life.
Her job took her to work and live in different parts of England before leaving for the U.S. with a nursing friend in 1952.
She received her RN licenses from Rhode Island in 1952 and New Jersey in 1961.
While working in Alaska, she met and married Bob Beasley in October 1959. They eventually moved to Bob's home state of Oklahoma and to Muskogee. Sadly, Bob died in 2002.
Joan is survived by her sister, Alice Burton; niece, Kathryn B. Wood and spouse, Brian Wood of Liversedge, Yorkshire, England; several cousins, all living in England and lots of loving friends who will miss her dearly.
Joan was a bridesmaid at her sister Alice and Jacks wedding and when her niece Kathryn and Bryan were married they spent four seeks of their honeymoon with Joan and Bob in Muskogee in 1972. Joan has also been visited in Muskogee by her father.
Joan was a very kind, loving woman who knew our Lord. She loved animals and had a huge place in her heart for her cat, Minnow, who departed this earth before her.
We love you Joan!!!
