Jimmy's Story

Jimmy Robert Eller, 82, Oktaha, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on January 11th, 2018. Jimmy, one of 11 children, was born on December 19th, 1935 to James A. and Corrine (Holden) Eller in Muskogee, OK. He attended Muskogee Central High School and graduated in 1954, and served in the Air Force Reserves.
Jimmy married Sandra Grace (Franklin) Eller on November 21st, 1956. They became parents to four boys. Jimmy was a dairy farmer and rancher for over 60 years, and served his community through leadership and service on numerous boards, including East Central Electric Cooperative, Farm Credit Services, Associated Milk Producers Incorporated, Muskogee Farmers Association, Muskogee Farm Bureau, Farm Service Agency, and 51 years for the Oktaha Board of Education.
Jimmy is survived by his loving spouse, Sandra Eller, married 61 years. His sons, Richard Eller and wife, Suzie Fayetteville, AR; Stanley Eller and wife, Sherri, Welch, OK; Garry Eller and wife Verletta, Oktaha, OK; and Brent Eller and wife, Charemon, Oktaha, OK. His grandchildren, Leslie and Stephen Dacus; Kyle and Tierra Eller; Ryan and Kristin Eller; Melissa and Josh Hall; Chad and Toni Eller; Austin and Sarah Eller; Amy and Ross Ogden; Karsyn Eller; Jackson Eller, and great-grandchildren, Kinley, Elle, Trigg, Luke, Jane, Audrey, Bentli, Josiah, Trey, Paisley, Caleb, and Rife. Sisters, Mildred Paris; Dessie Hobbs, Saundra Parker, and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Wayne Mullen; Bennie Eller; Maygene Eller; Joyce Eller, and Cookie Eller.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Brothers, Royce Eller; Ralph Eller; O.J. Eller; Ronnie Eller, and sisters, Foyce Johnston; Darlene Howdeshell; and Jane Mullen. Brothers-in-law, Clarence Paris; Leonard Howdeshell; Jack Hobbs; and Ken Parker.
The family will receive friends from 2-4PM, Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 15th, 2018 at the Jimmy R. Eller Gymnasium at Oktaha High School in Oktaha, OK. Reverend Danny Barks will officiate, and graveside services will be held at Oktaha Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Eller, Ryan Eller, Chad Eller, Austin Eller, Jackson Eller, Stephen Dacus, Josh Hall, and Ross Ogden. Honorary pallbearers will be David Boyer, Roy Carter, Ed Schenk, Jerry Needham, Wayne Mullen, Rocky Bowen, Roberto Lara, and Richard Merritt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Oktaha School or Keefeton Free Will Baptist Church.
