Jesse James Rigsby Sr., 78 year old Fort Gibson resident, passed away of natural causes on Monday, January 1, 2018 at his home. He was born on Sunday, August 20, 1939 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Homer and Mable Rigsby.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years; Maxine Violet Rigsby, his father; Homer Harold Rigsby; mother; Mable Ethel Rigsby, three sisters, Opal Darville, Ethel Andrews and Pauline York. Jesse is lovingly survived by two sons, Jesse James Rigsby Jr. and wife Misty of Coweta, Oklahoma and Michael Lawrence Rigsby and wife Carrie of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Jessica Ann Lynnae Rigsby, Emilee Nicole Rigsby, Katelyn Elizabeth Rigsby all of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, Jesse James Rigsby III, Ethan Michael Summers and David Joel Rigsby of Coweta, Oklahoma, Aaron Michael Rigsby, Matthew Isaiah Rigsby and Anna Elizabeth Rigsby of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one sister Martha Stringer of Sherman Texas.
The family will greet friends from 5PM to 7PM Monday, January 8, 2018 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson (918) 478-2555. Funeral services for Jesse will be 11AM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Calvary Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, Fort Gibson, with Reverend Don Reed officiating and Reverend Fred Huffman citing the Eulogy. Committal Prayers and Interment will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the personal direction of Cliff Garrett.
