Jerry's Story

Jerry Ray Cole, 70, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away December 25, 2017, surrounded by his family, after 6 long hard years of battling cancer. He was born on December 7, 1947 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Jerry and his mother, Wanda, moved to California where he attended public school. Wanda met and later married Rex D. Johnston, who raised Jerry as his own.
Jerry will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love for the Lord, and his family. He was very proud of them.
He served his country as a contractor in Afghanistan. Jerry also worked for Cherokee Casino in Catoosa as a maintenance supervisor. He worked most of his life at the Muskogee First Presbyterian Church as the building manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Wanda Johnston.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Teresa Young; his children, Tina Cox and husband Douglas of Washington, DC, JD Wheeler and wife Missy of Tahlequah, Jessica Goff and husband Don of Marietta, GA, Jay Cole of Colorado, and Nicholas Cole of Midwest City; grandchildren, Daman & Cheyenne Cox, Justin Winget, Taylor Goff, Jace Goff, Macy Wheeler, Calli Wheeler, and Brooklyn Wheeler; 1 great-grandson, Noah Castellanos; along with other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service celebrating Jerry's life will be 3PM, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating.
