Janice Ann Tidwell, or Jan, of Fort Gibson, was born on July 4, 1951, to Joe "Mutt" and Garnie "Prude" (Fuller) McCoy. Jan went to rest on Friday, August 4, 2017, in Muskogee. She was 66.
Jan grew up in the close knit community of McClain, OK. There, she played softball and made friendships that lasted her lifetime. In 1969, Jan graduated from Webbers Falls High School. She married special friend Mickey Miller in 1970. In 1974, they were overjoyed by the birth of their daughter Brandy.
Jan held remarkable relationships with many loved ones, especially her grandsons Forrest and Zachary. Prior to her retirement, Jan was known as a motherly presence to many coworkers at Creek Nation Casino. She was a lover of music and good conversation, and her liveliness was appreciated by all who knew her.
Jan leaves behind a beloved family, including her sister Stella Jackson of Warner; grandchildren Forrest Kinney and wife Isabelle of Durango, CO, and Zachary Kinney of Fort Gibson; and an abundance of nieces and nephews, many of who called Jan their "favorite aunt". She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Kenny and Ronnie McCoy, and the love of her life, daughter Brandy Lynn Kinney.
A family memorial lunch will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017, followed by services at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Muskogee. Jan's longtime friend Pastor Eric Collins will be officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.
