James E. Watson, 77, of Muskogee, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Claremore Veterans Center. He was born on May 3, 1939 in Barboursville, West Virginia. James grew up in Huntington, West Virginia and Barboursville. He graduated from Barboursville High School and then joined the U.S. Armed Forces. He retired after twenty years of service. James moved to Muskogee in 2006 to be with family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carolyn Watson; son, James Watson, Jr.; brother, Ronald Watson; mother, Helen Crawley and father, Norman Watson.
James is survived by his daughter, Renea Looser and son, Michael Watson, both from Muskogee; granddaughter, Brandi Looser; grandson, Michael James Vann Watson; daughter-in-law, Julie Watson; and both sisters, Patty Holley and Joyce Header from Jefferson, Texas.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard, Ft. Sill, OK.
