James Wayne Wassom, age 55, passed this life and entered eternity on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 while surrounded by his family in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born on October 2, 1961 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to his parents Lloyd Wayne Wassom and Carol Arnett (Harris). James attended the Okay High School while receiving his early childhood education. James has been a lifelong resident of the Okay community. One of the traits that many will always remember James by is how he was a hard worker. He worked for several power companies traveling all over the United States working as a lineman. He was by far the best papa ever in the world who loved taking his grandchildren out to Mazzios and Braums. James would always tease his grandchildren every time they went to eat saying that he was going to feed them opossum stew. He had a great sense of humor and had a special way of making people laugh. James hobbies included being with his family and most of all teaching his granddaughters how to ride their bikes, playing Babies or my little pony with them. James strived each day to live a life that represented God and what the true meaning of living was about. James was preceded in death by his dad Lloyd Wayne Wassom and his wife Lori Johnson Wassom. Left to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy is his daughters Kasey Gant of Fort Gibson, Matisha Montgomery of Alexandria, VA and step daughter Sydney Johnson, brother Danny Wassom and his wife Pamela of Arkansas, two sisters Sherry Johnson of Mansfield, Arkansas and Kim Middleton and her husband Charles of Wagoner, mother in law Sandy Thayer of Mallard Bay, grandchildren Aubrey Gant, Reece Gant and Kadence McFarland along with one special friend who James considered a brother Ted Boswell.
A ceremony to honor James's life will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., located at Three Rivers Cemetery in Okay, Oklahoma with Pastor's Bruce VonWald and Don Rhyne officiating.
