James Lynn Carpenter, 72, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gates on Monday, November 20, 2017. He was born on December 27, 1944 in Paris, Arkansas to James Leonard Carpenter and Anna Margaret (Bartsch) Kieft. Jim attended Subiaco Academy and later advanced his education at the University of Nebraska. He would later obtain a degree to be a Physician's Assistant.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1980 from which he received an Honorable discharge.
Jim married the love of his life, Glenda Lea Hoover, on August 18, 1984 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. They shared more than 33 years of life and marriage together.
He worked as a PA at MRMC/St Francis of Muskogee. Work was his hobby and he loved helping people. He loved to cook for his family and spend time with them, especially his grandchildren.
Jim attended Timothy Baptist Church. His favorite saying was "Just another day in paradise." He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Margaret Bartsch; his father, James Leonard Carpenter; his grandparents, John and Anna Bartsch.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda, of the home; daughter, Kelsey Scott and husband Wes; son, Logan Carpenter and girlfriend, Ashli Borden, all of Muskogee; stepson, Nathan Smith of Petaluma, CA; his grandchildren, Raeli Carpenter, Avery Carpenter, Ava Scott, Sloane Scott, Phoenix Smith, Eizen Smith, and Jade Smith; his brother, Larry D. Carpenter and wife Alice of Ft. Smith, AR; along with other family members and friends.

Funeral services honoring Jim's life will be 12:30PM, Monday, November 27, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with Military Honors being presented.
