Helen Bernice (Orman) Grounds, 88, went to her heavenly home on February 1, 2019. She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma July 7, 1930 to Ollie and Nora (Hanson) Orman.

Helen was happily married to Bob Grounds from 1950 to 1971 until his untimely passing. She started working outside the home following her husband's death. Helen worked as a cafeteria cook for the Muskogee Public Schools system for over 25 years until her retirement.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 49 years teaching children's Sunday School for much of that time. She enjoyed sewing and especially visiting with her friends and family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Nora Orman; husband, Bob; sisters, Suzie Spencer and Doris Foster; brother, George Orman; and daughter-in-law, Karen Grounds. She is survived by her children, Bobby Grounds and wife Debbie and Larry Grounds; brothers, Jack Orman and wife Shirley, Ollie Gene Orman and wife Cecelia and Rickey Orman and wife Melody; grandsons, Sam Grounds and wife Kristal, Corey Grounds and Aaron Grounds; granddaughters, Mary Beth Beckham and husband Heath and Katie Grounds; along with 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Helen Grounds will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel with pastors Bobby Morgan and Bill Crow officiating. They also will be assisted by Helen's grandson, Sam Grounds.

I'm so sorry to hear of Aunt Helen's passing. I remember her as always being such a kind and loving person. I know she will be greatly missed! My thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
