George Edward Kirk was born on August 8th, 1942 in Braggs, OK, the son of Calvert and Jackie (McCollum) Kirk. He was raised in a family household of one brother, Jimmy and three sisters, Faye, Catherine, and Mary. He attended and graduated from high school, then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, being stationed in Germany. He returned home after his honorable discharge and began his many careers. For many years he worked at Sadler Paper Company, worked in the bakery, delivered mail and retired from Dresser Rand as Parts Manager. He was always giving his all for any company that entrusted him. As soon as the work day was done, he began on his many projects which ranged from collecting and repairing old classic cars, to riding his motorcycle. He knew no strangers, only friends he hadn't met yet! He was quick with a friendly grin and even better with a good joke or story, especially if it came with a hot cup of coffee. He enjoyed a little down time at home resting in his easy chair watching TV with his favorite canine companion by his side. He always enjoyed the chance to gather with his family and enjoy the day, and maybe chase the kids around the yard. He loved kids. He was very proud of his daughter, Maye Lynn and her son, Austin. They were so very special to him. He also enjoyed any time spent with the love of his life, Terri. His health began to fail him and George passed from this life on Sunday, December 10th, 2017 in Muskogee, OK with his loved ones by his side. He was 75 years old. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, one sister, Faye Davis, and one great nephew, Gavin Pryor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Terri Crandall of the home in Muskogee. He lives on in his daughter, Maye Lynn Kirk of Muskogee, OK, and her son, Austin Davis, also of Muskogee, OK. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Kirk of Tulsa, OK, and sisters Catherine Phillips and husband Orlin of Muskogee, OK and Mary Wolfe of Braggs, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
