Evalyn Perceful, 84 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on November 6, 2017 at her home. She was born April 29, 1933 in Avery, Oklahoma to Elgin and Jeanette Shepherd. She married Earl Perceful on March 28, 1954.
Evalyn worked at the Oklahoma School for the Blind for 22 years as a houseparent. She made many friends while working at the school. She loved the students and they loved and respected her. She loved to travel and go camping with the Good Sam's Club. Evalyn enjoyed flowers and always wanted to buy and plant more. She enjoyed sewing and making dolls. She loved Christmas and loved decorating her home. Evalyn enjoyed car racing and was a big Jeff Gordon fan. She loved watching the birds and feeding them during the winter. She especially loved her cat, Buttons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years; also, two sisters, Ruth Howard and Deloris Bennett, and two brothers, Roy Shepherd and Melvin Shepherd.
She is survived by her two sons, William and wife Patsy and Keith and wife Bobbie, all of Muskogee, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Elma Gaither; four sisters-in-law, Mary Allison, Lena Henson, Martha and Harold Slate, Phyllis Perceful and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Fosters' Ivory Chapel with Bro. Michael Hart officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
