Eugene's Story

Eugene Horn, 90, of Gore, OK, was born June 17, 1927 at Webbers Falls, OK, the son of Sam and Mary L. (Keith) Horn and died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Fort Smith, AR.
Eugene attended school in Webbers Falls and later joined the U. S. Navy where he spent 20 years. He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War where he flew in a P-2V patrol bomber as the plane captain. After leaving the Navy, he spent 15 years working at a mill in Washington. On December 24, 1948 he married Wanda Henson in Arkansas. He was a member of the Church of Christ, V.F.W., F.R.A., and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; son, Larry E. Horn of Gore, OK; grandchildren, Antonio Jimenez, Nicky L. Jimenez, and Lydia Rae Lampers; six great-grandchildren; three nieces, Carol Henson, Glenda Henson, LaVon Henson; nephews, Ronnie, Jerry Duane, and Mike Henson; numerous other loved ones and many precious friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vickie L. Horn Jimenez; son, Ricky Dale Horn; granddaughter, Ricky Dee Jimenez; and brothers-in-law, William Henson, John L. Henson, and Lemuel Henson.
Services for Eugene will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Road Church of Christ in Gore with Tom Medlin officiating. Pallbearers will be Josh Harris, Gary Harris, Austin Harris, and Tony Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Monholland, Tony Weber, Raymond Pigeon, and Nolen Tittle. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.
