Earney's Story

Earney Brackett, 72, devoted son, father, grandpa and husband went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 23, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born July 4, 1945 in Lompoc, California to Willard and Leota (Burdine) Brackett.
His family knew him best as a very loving and kind man who had an undeniable love for his grandchildren and his dogs. He was a mechanic by trade and an avid motorcycle enthusiast, especially Harley-Davidson. He also loved basketball, motorcycle rides, drag-races, time spent with his family, his church family, giving communion at a local retirement center faithfully every Sunday afternoon and having coffee and good conversation with his buddies at Anna's Coffee Cup. Earney dedicated four years of his life serving in the United States Navy as a boiler operator. He was stationed in Norfolk, VA where he proudly served one term contributing to the sacrifice of freedom to his fellow Americans and his country.
Earney is preceded in death by his parents; children, Michelle Louise Brackett and Joseph Prescott. He is survived by his children, Scotty Brackett, William and Shannon Brackett, Naomi Lindsey, Ira Prescott, Johnny Prescott; grandchildren, Samantha, Makayla, Jaylee, Michael, Emma, Mathew, Grace, William Michael John; and special friends, Wiggles and Petie.
A Funeral service celebrating the life of Earney Brackett will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Chandler Road Church of Christ with Mr. Vance Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah with Scott Brackett, William Brackett, Steve Hill, Randy Rider, Jody Rogers and Mark Johnson serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, Earney's family request donations be sent to the Children's Inn of NIH, 7 West Drive, Bethesda, MD 20814-1509, in memory of Earney and Michelle Brackett.
