Earl's Story

Earl Dean Moffett, 91, resident of Tenkiller Lake area for 40 years was born May 17, 1926 in Ratcliff, Arkansas to Henry and Clementine (Dennis) Moffett and peacefully passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 in Fort Gibson with his loving family by his side.
Earl met the love of his life and later married Bobbie Nutt on February 2, 1968, a love that stood the test of time of 49 years, three months and seventeen days. Earl was affectionately known by his family as Papa Muff.
Earl retired from Fort Howard in 1990. His passion in life was his family, but he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying and building remote control airplanes. Earl also wrote a book on "How to Kill a Deer By Accident." Later in life Earl enjoyed feeding deer, who would come at his calling.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie of the home; daughters, Terri Randle and husband Don of Petersburg, IL, Teresa Gullett and husband Everett of Park Hill, OK; son, Tony Moffett and wife Julie of Coweta, OK; brother in law, Hoopie Pingleton and sister in law Carol Pingleton of Fort Gibson; mother in law, Estelle Nutt of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, Steven Reed and wife Jenni, Stefanie Fricke and husband Chad, Doug Pingleton, Brandon Gullett and wife CJ, Toni Jo Jones and husband Kyle, Kendall Gullett, Samantha Roberts and husband Jackie, Lacie Terrell and husband James, Katelynne Randle, Morgan Anglin and husband BJ, Meagan Seagroves and husband Shawn; and fifteen great grandchildren and many friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lena King and Imogene Henderson; and brother, Kenneth Moffett.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Citizens Cemetery Pavilion in Fort Gibson, OK with Pastor Glen Rowan officiating. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Steven Reed, Doug Pingleton, Brandon Gullett, Kendall Gullett, Tristen Fricke, Chad Fricke and friend Ray Lively.
