Dorothy Lee Mullican, 95, of Muskogee, OK, was born May 7, 1922 in Vian, OK,
the daughter of Jack and Nellie (Roark) Liston and died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at her home in Muskogee.
Dorothy attended schools in Carlisle and Vian, OK. On January 30, 1941 she married Charles L. Mullican in Vian, OK. She worked at the US Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester during World War II. Later she worked as a cook at a hospital in California, Longfellow Elementary, and West Jr. High School. She was also employed at Swift and Funston's. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, attending church, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was known for her hospitality because she cooked for and housed many visiting preachers and visitors through the years.
Survivors include her children, Robert Mullican (Ann) of Chickasha, OK, Richard Dale Mullican (Karen), Leon C. Mullican (Barbara), Paul Mullican (Lori), and Jerry Mullican all of Muskogee; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jackie Derreck, Rose Holder, Janella McDonald, Janie Mannon, and Dixie Callison. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; infant daughter, Mary; sister, Ruth Mabry; and brothers, Sonny Liston and Ray Liston.
Services for Dorothy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel, 2801 Chandler Road, Muskogee, OK, with Don Pruitt officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Mullican, Clint Mullican, James Mullican, Alan Bolles, Mickey Liston, and Ronnie Hair. Honorary pallbearers will be George Mullican, Barry Bolles, Bryant Bolding, and Billy Reheard. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, OK.
