Delores's Story

Delores May (Puckett) Hassell, a long-time resident of Muskogee, passed away on Thursday, April 13th at St. Francis Hospital of Muskogee with her children by her side.
Born on July 12, 1946 in Oakhurst, OK, she became the first adoption in Haskell County to parents Cymbeline (Ware) and Anthony Walter Puckett. She graduated Central High School, class of 1965. She went on to attend Virgil's Beauty College and was owner of the Cut & Curl hair salon for several years.
She was a Sunday school teacher and the pianist for Timothy Baptist Church for 20+ years. She also taught a Cameo Painting class at the Muskogee Public Library for some time. She worked 25 years with the state of Oklahoma as a counselor at Taft Children's Center and Jess Dunn Correctional Center. Many knew her as Delores Campbell.
She loved gardening, arts and crafts, sewing, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her children, Kendall Schwartz of Muskogee, OK and Holly (Schwartz) Standfield and husband Ben of Ocoee, FL and granddaughter, Bailey Standfield.
Funeral services for Delores will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Timothy Baptist Church in Muskogee followed by graveside services at Enterprise Cemetery in Enterprise, OK.
