David's Story

David Ray Henson, 54 year old Muskogee resident found peace as a spirit in the sky on Wednesday March 15th 2017. Born to Raymond and Martha Henson on December 1st 1962 in Portsmouth, VA. David graduated in 1981 from Warner High School in Warner, OK. He managed the Church's Chicken in both Muskogee and Checotah until 1987 when he joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as 100% disabled veteran in 1990.
He then provided and raised his family in Muskogee County. An avid dog lover, David enjoyed the outdoors and all its activities including swimming and fishing, but his greatest enjoyment was his grandkids. David loved spending time with his mother-in-law Cindy Davis and late father-in-law Leon Davis of Porum.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Martha (Yow) Henson of Warner; grandparents, William "Cuter" and Ola Henson of Warner. He is survived by his one true love Cindy Jeanene Henson of Muskogee, and 4 children and 3 grandchildren; Casey Henson and her daughter Mackenzie of Muskogee, Samantha Henson of Muskogee, David Allen Henson and wife Kaitlyn and their sons Jayce and Gavin of Muskogee, Cheyanna Henson of Muskogee; One sister, Rebecca and husband David Harris of Broken Arrow and one brother, Tony and wife Rhonda Henson of Warner; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
David will receive visitors from 1 PM to 8 PM and family 5 PM to 7 PM Sunday March 19th, 2017 at Lescher Millsap Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Warner Memorial Cemetery at 2 PM Monday March 20th 2017. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard. Pallbearers will include: Tony Henson, David Harris, Gary Harris, Josh Harris, Earldee Chandler, Vic Wiedel, Rusty George, and Ryan Maxwell. Honorary pallbearers will include David Allen Henson, David Jayce Henson, Gavin Henson, Michael Davis, and Chance Chandler.
