Cynthia "Cindy" Lee Cary, aged 64, was born November 24, 1952, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of George E. Kirk Jr. and Mary Lee Saunders. She lost her brief, intense fight against cancer on June 30. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lee Kirk, brother, Gary Kirk, son, Nicolas Cary, and daughter, Miranda Cary.
Cindy played numerous sports when she was younger, such as gymnastics, dance, wrestling, and swimming. She was very passionate about science and loved being in nature. She instilled a deep respect for nature and the environment in her two children. She was a devoted mother who loved her children immensely and would do anything she could for them, as well as a dedicated daughter and sister.
She also shared her passion for science with all of the she students she educated in her 37 years as a school teacher in Muskogee. She dedicated her life to science and education. We want to honor her passion for science. Thus, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Mental Health Association or to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of life will occur at a later date that is still to be determined.
