Clayton's Story

Clayton "Whitey" Marsh, 92, of Fort Gibson, OK was born February 24, 1925 at Greenleaf, OK to Clarence and Anna (Salmon) Marsh and peacefully passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 in Muskogee.
Clayton grew up in Greenleaf, OK area. He joined the United States Army, on August 13, 1943 and was honorably discharged on January 29, 1946 serving in WWII. Clayton worked at Carnation Ice Cream as a forklift driver. He married Eva Mae Peterson on July 3, 2003 in Eureka Springs, AR. They made their home in Fort Gibson.
Clayton was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris; his parents; brothers, Red and Boyd Marsh and 2 sisters, Ruby and Georgia.
Clayton is survived by his wife Eva Mae of the home; son, Garry Marsh; daughter, Sherry Marsh; grandsons, Brian Coffey, Jason Coffey and Keith Marsh; granddaughters, Lisa Coffey, Cassie Coffey, Ashley Coffey and Jaden Coffey; sisters, Norma Jean Terry and Carol Foust; extended family and many friends.
A service celebrating Clayton's life will be 10:30AM Friday, January 5, 2018 at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Gibson with Pastor Tommy Honeycutt officiating.
Committal prayers and interment will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with military honors. With Brian Coffey, Kenny Franklin, Richard Lear and Tom Curtsinger serving as casket bearers.
