Betty's Story

Betty M. White was born March 16, 1928 in Geary, Oklahoma to John and Lennie (Moore) Harrison. After graduating from high school she attended college for a time before marrying her husband, Joe Carl White, on May 20, 1946. They were married for 53 years before Mr. White's death in 1999. Betty and Joe moved back to Wagoner from Bakersfield, California in 1967 and enjoyed the Wagoner/Coweta community. She was employed in the Wagoner County Clerk's office before retirement.
Betty was a long time active member of the First Christian Church in Wagoner. Her family, church and other friends have all enjoyed her excellent pie making skills, and she was generous in sharing with others. Betty enjoyed bowling and bingo as well as shopping. She dearly loved her dog, Rebel.
Betty departed this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Grace Living Center in Tahlequah, OK. Besides her husband, Joe, Betty was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Martha Nixon, three brothers, Edmond Harrison, gene Harrison and Everett Harrison; two sisters-in-law, Betty Harrison and Rogene Harrison; and a great grandson, K.J. Rowe.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Jerry Rowe of Hulbert, OK; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan White of South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Bob Nixon of Bakersfield, California; grandchildren, J.J. Rowe and wife, Kysa, Kevin Rowe, Stewart White, Casey Rowe and wife, Amanda, Jeremy Rowe and wife, Tracy, Tina and Laura; great-grandchildren, Morgan Rowe, Chance Rowe, Rylee Rowe, Kacee Rowe, Sammy White, and Spencer White; nieces, Mary, Polly and Donna; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, both at the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner. Officiating will be the Reverend Will Smith of First Christian Church.
The Committal service and interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be J.J. Rowe, Kevin Rowe, Casey Rowe, Chance Rowe, Pete Clark, Tommy Biby and Todd Lacey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Hall, Jerry Fields, Don Jones, Jason Fields, Jim Self and Moyne Linscott.
