Text size

Betty June Pace, 89, of Muskogee, went to be with her Lord on August 16, 2017. She was born to Luther "Luke" and Ruby (Sparkman) Pickle on June 18, 1928 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Betty moved with her family to Muskogee in 1935. During the years of completing her education, she met the man with whom she would spend the rest of her life. Betty June and Harold Pace were married in Wagoner, Oklahoma on May 13, 1944.
She attended and was a very active member of Westside Church of Christ for over 50 years and she counted it a privilege to serve her Lord.
Betty worked numerous jobs throughout her life, but none more enjoyable to her than when she was the Muskogee County Clerk. She served in this position with pride and had great pleasure working for the County. She also enjoyed being involved in and following Oklahoma and national politics.
Betty loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 2015; both parents, one brother and one sister. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Connie Pace of Springfield, MO; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judi Pace Utt and Blaine Utt of Bartlesville, OK and Lisa Pace Vaughn and Tony Vaughn of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as numerous other members of the family. Other survivors are Nancy and Ray Smith who took loving care of Betty.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Harold.
