Betty's Story

Betty Lou Cope was born on Feb. 25, 1940 in Muskogee, OK to George William Foutch & Edith (McLaughlin) Foutch. She passed from this life on Oct. 22, 2016 at her home in Haskell, OK at the age of 76 years, 7 months & 27 days.
Betty was a 1958 graduate of Coweta High School. She was a devoted homemaker who always considered taking care of children one of her greatest passions in life. She was a longtime member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Haskell and traveled with her husband as he preached where God led him. Some of her other favorite interests included cooking, cleaning, traveling and especially spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers; Raymond & Herman Foutch and 1 sister; Jean Sullivan.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of almost 60 years, Earl E. "Buck" Cope, whom she married on Dec. 25, 1956 in Haskell, OK. She is also survived by 3 sons; Edward Lin Cope and wife Dianna, of Muskogee, Mitchell Earl Cope and wife Christy, of Haskell & Earl Edward Cope Jr. and wife Sheree, of Haskell, 1 daughter; Vickie Sue Freeman and husband Bryan, of Coweta, 4 sisters; Pauline Crow of Coweta, Barbara Cunningham of Muskogee, Joyce Foutch of Tahlequah & Carol Martin of Muskogee, 1 brother; George William Foutch, Jr. of Eldora, IA, 10 grandchildren; Justin Cope, Jason Cope, Stacy Cole, Mikel Cope, Kody Freeman, Kruz Freeman, Waylon Cope, Josie Cope, Weston Cope & Wesley Cope, 10 great-granchildren; Isabella Cope, Justin Cope II, Natalee Cope, Jaxon Cope, Brooklin Cope, Zaven Freeman, Stryker Freeman, Wyatt Cole, Weston Gunner Cole & Mason Cope as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and longtime friends.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 at Haskell First Free Will Baptist Church.
Officiating will be Rev. Gary Dotson, Rev. Jay Tom Dixon, Rev. Joel Hutchison.
