Loving mother and Muskogee native
Barbara Brown Antezana passed away on February 19, 2017 from cardiovascular disease. Born in Dallas, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Richard Blackstone Brown and Julia Carson.
Barbara is survived by her son Michael, her daughters Monica and Patricia, and Patricia's husband Kevin Lynch. Barbara also leaves three siblings, her brothers Daniel and Donald and her sister Betty.
Barbara grew up in Muskogee, graduating from Central High School, and then attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in Russian. She also studied at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the time of her death, Barbara was living in Novato, California and had retired from her position as Court Process Specialist at the Marin Superior Court. Barbara had been active in the First Presbyterian Church of Muskogee and more recently sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael, California. Barbara traveled extensively but never lost her love for Muskogee. She was a devoted mother, caring sister, and kind and considerate to everyone she met. Her contagious laugh touched many, and she will be missed.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, 7600 Old Taft Rd, Muskogee. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Warrior Canine Connection; 14934 Schaeffer Road, Boyds, MD 20841; www.warriorcanineconnection.org.
